Gerald Stanley “Jerry” Budzinski, 88, died unexpectedly at home November 16, 2025 in Mine Hill, NJ. Born in Larksville, PA on November 15, 1937 he was the son of the late Stanley John and Bernadine (Warminski) Budzinski.
Jerry was very proud of working at Picatinny Arsenal in the Maintenance Dept. for 37 years retiring in 2003. After retirement he loved walking the Rockaway Mall often meeting up with “the guys” to share coffee, stories, meals or a trip to the casino. He was a former member of Rockaway Twp. Senior Center and was fond of the meetings and trips. He enjoyed belonging to National Campers and Hikers Association “NCHA” and found pleasure in camping with his family and the camping club “The Thundering Herd”.
Jerry loved gadgets and was peculiarly delighted in his cameras capturing vacations, weddings and special times with friends and family. He enjoyed his TV shows especially westerns. He loved music, Christmas songs (even out of season), country (especially Alan Jackson), all forms of Jazz, and Polkas (especially Jimmy Sturr). He was always listening to music from his Apple devices. Jerry would sometimes make up his own lyrics to songs or hum. He was a fan of Nikon, Nascar, Apple, and Ford Mercury. He could be very funny and had a dry sense of humor. Jerry never met a dog that didn’t love him, a real dog whisperer.
He is survived by a daughter Patricia OConnell and her husband Sean.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by His wife Joyce (Barkasy), his siblings, Anthony “Bud” Budzinski, Barbara Killganon, and Jane Cawley.
Entombment and Graveside Service will be held 12 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2025, at Locust Hill Cemetery, 168 North Sussex Street Dover, New Jersey 07801 by an officiant of St Mary’s Catholic Church.
