Roxbury Township: Genevieve Femia-Bullerjohn (née: Gerardi)
Genevieve (Janet) passed away on July 13, 2024, at Morristown Medical Center after a brief illness. Born July 12,1939 to loving parents, Anthony and Helen Gerardi of Bayonne, New Jersey. She is predeceased by brothers John (Jack) and Gerard, and survived by brother William and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Following graduation from Bayonne High School, Genevieve married Frank C. Femia of Bayonne in 1961. Survived by her children - Marie Femia, husband Hank Maszczak; Joseph; Christine Femia-Beyer, husband Walter and his daughters Courtney and Olivia; Frank and daughter Elizabeth Femia.
Genevieve and her family moved from Bayonne to Wharton and then Roxbury where she has lived for the last 50 years and has been a parishioner at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Dover for the last 60 years. Genevieve was predeceased by her loving husband Frank in 1983. Her greatest accomplishment was the difficult task of raising four children on her own. Her selfless, dedicated love for family was the most important part of her life, expressing unwavering loyalty to family and friends in her daily loving and caring actions. Her happiest times were gatherings with friends and family, serving up her delicious recipes loved by many.
Genevieve later went on to remarry Charles E. Bullerjohn in 2004 and is survived by Charles, son Kirk and wife Lisa, grandson Kirk Bullerjohn, his wife Tiffany and great grandsons – Madden, Bennett and Crew. Predeceased by Charles E. Bullerjohn Jr.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main Street, Wharton, NJ, 07885, on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am at Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 425 W. Blackwell Street, Dover, NJ 07801 on Thursday, July 18, at 11:00am. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ 07031.
