Randolph: Fred Santucci, 98, of Randolph, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023.
Fred was born in Newark, New Jersey on December 21,1924. He was the youngest of five children born to Ferdinando and Pierina (Francini) Santucci.
Fred met the love of his life, Anne, in 1950 while working at Raritan Arsenal. They married in 1953 and spent 60 happy years together until her death in 2013. They raised two children together in Randolph, NJ.
He was an avid golfer, spending most of his time on the links at the Picatinny Golf Club. He enjoyed dancing with Anne, playing pool, bowling, tinkering with anything mechanical and problem solving whatever came his way. He was fiercely independent and exceedingly generous, especially with his family.
Fred served his country in the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945 and went to college on the GI Bill. He graduated from Newark College of Engineering in 1950 and began his career as a Mechanical Engineer at Raritan Arsenal. He then moved on to Picatinny Arsenal, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the BPO Elks for 60 years.
Fred is survived by his son, Alan, (Jeanne), his daughter, Sandra (Jeff), his five grandchildren, Danny, (Christine), Shane, (Brooke) Christopher, Cameron and Kimberly, (Zachary) and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Anne, and his siblings, Jennie, Eddie, Ernie, and Elsie.
