Ocala, FL: With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Foster "Sonny" Ball, Jr. on October 18, 2021 at the Ted & Diane Brandley Hospice House in Summerfield, FL. He was 80 years of age.
Foster was born in Scranton, PA, May 13, 1941 and grew up in Wharton, NJ. He was the son of the late Foster Ball, Sr. and Elsie (née Pompey).
He was an Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 91 of Wharton, NJ.
He worked for L.E. Carpenters and the Wharton Dept. of Public Works for many years as a truck driver.
He loved junking most of all and being at the coal yard with his dad. Always willing to help, he even drove the truck for his nephew Mike when he needed a driver. Later in life, he enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards and scratch off tickets.
Predeceased by his grandson, Nicholas Anthony in 1990, his sister, Jean Malson and her husband Bob as well as his brother-in-law’s, Arthur Toronzi and Pat Kimble and daughter-in-law Cynde Chesonis.
Survived by his son, Foster III of Ocala, FL, his brother Louie of Hopatcong, his sister, Janet Toronzi of Wharton and his sister Carol Kimble of Ocala, FL with whom he lived along with his niece Tina who cared for him.
Granddaughters; Whitney Ball and Alexandrea McArthur and step-grandson, Mark Van.
Also survived by 3 great grandchildren and his nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held 3-6pm on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. Interment will be private.
