Emily DeFeo passed away peacefully in her home on March 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 95 years young.
She is predeceased by her son Steven and her devoted partner of many years, Joe Calderio.
Emily is survived by her loving family;
George and his wife, Debbie,
Ricky and his wife, Brenda,
daughter-in-law Debbie, and eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Emily was born to the late Julie Butler and John Bayes in Paterson, NJ and worked in the garment industry there before moving to Lake Hopatcong in 1959 to enjoy the lake life with her children. She was a member of the Lakeland Senior Citizens Club of Jefferson for many years, proudly holding various offices and organizing wonderful outings for the group. Emily was an avid traveler, loving her cruises with her cherished friends.
She will be dearly missed
Emily was a parishioner of Our Lady, Star of the Sea in Lake Hopatcong.
Visitation will be held 4-7pm on Wednesday March 12, at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main Street, Wharton, NJ. Service and Entombment will be private.
