Eleanor Nobile, 91, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025.
Born in Dover, New Jersey, Eleanor lived most of her life there before later residing in Allamuchy and Frelinghuysen Township. She was a graduate of Bayley Ellard High School and dedicated many years of service to Picatinny Arsenal, retiring in 1989. In addition, she worked part-time at the Allamuchy Township Town Hall in the court office.
In her younger years, Eleanor was an avid bowler and traveled to participate in tournaments. She also enjoyed watching tennis, completing crossword puzzles, and spending time with friends—often going out to dinner and the movies. Eleanor especially cherished traveling with her best friend, Bridie Aubel.
Eleanor was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis Nobile; her sister, Mary Elizabeth Copensky; her brother, William Dee; and her stepdaughter, Nancy M. Nobile.
She is survived by her daughter, Lenore Hicok, and her husband David; her grandchildren, Emily and Ryan; her sister, Margaret Rossi, and her husband Robert; her nieces Kellie-Ann, Judi, Vicki, Mary Beth, and Lori; and her nephew, Jim
Visitation will be held 1-4pm on Sunday January 11, 2025 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. A Funeral Mass will be held 10am on Monday at St. Mary's Church in Wharton. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Mine Hill.
