Dover: Dorothy L. Malcolm passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026 at Merry Heart Assisted Living in Succasunna. She was 96 years of age.
Dorothy was born in Wharton to the late William and Edna Gardner, she grew up in Mine Hill. Dorothy moved to Dover after marrying her husband David Malcolm and lived in the same home for 75 years.
Dorothy started working at Dover Trust Bank at 16 years old. The bank went thru many mergers, and she retired from Bank of America at age 62. At one point she was a manager at the Randolph location.
Dot always had dogs through the years and that where she met most her friends and neighbors thru walking her dogs. She had many neighbors who were there to help her as she aged.
On a funny note, one of her best friends was QVC. She watched everyday and they definitely loved her!
Dot was a member of the Mine Hill Presbyterian Church which she was very active when younger.
She was predeceased by her husband David in 2003.
She is survived by 2 special friends Linda Malcolm her sister-in-law and John Standridge who always helped her at her home making repairs. She is also survived by her cousin Bill Gardner and his wife Kathy.
Visitation will be held 6-8pm on Monday April 13, at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. A Funeral Service will be held 8pm at the Funeral Home. Dorothy will be laid to rest with her husband at Pleasant Hill in Randolph in a Private Service.
