Deborah Colicchio Obituary

Deborah “Debbie” L. Colicchio, a woman whose life was defined by her unwavering devotion to her family and her community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville. She was 68 years old. At her passing, she was held in the love of her husband, who remained by her side just as he had for over five decades.

A Life Rooted in Home

A lifelong resident of the area, Debbie was born in Dover and raised in the Mt. Hope section of Rockaway Township. A proud graduate of the Morris Hills High School Class of 1975, she eventually settled in Dover, where she spent the last 31 years creating a home filled with warmth and hospitality.

While Debbie held various part-time jobs, her true calling was as a dedicated homemaker. Her heart for service extended beyond her own front door; she was a fixture at the Grace United Methodist Church Thrift Shop, where she spent years volunteering, and she took great pride in her role as the past president of the Dover Seniors.

A Legacy of Family and Simple Joys.

To know Debbie was to know what she loved. Whether she was humming along to Alan Jackson, finding comfort in the stories of Little House on the Prairie, or engaging in a competitive round of cards, she found beauty in life’s simple moments.

Above all else, Debbie’s greatest masterpiece was her family. To her children, she was a compass—providing a foundation of love and a home that was always open. To her grandchildren, she was a source of pure, boundless joy. Though they live across the country, from Arizona to Florida, the distance was bridged by her constant love. She took immense pride in every milestone they reached, and her spirit will forever be the "home" they carry within them.

Debbie was predeceased by her parents, Norman Dudley “Bucky” Farrand and Martha Alice Boyd Farrand, and her siblings: Wilbur Dudley, Norman Douglas, Barbara Sue, and Kevin Eric Farrand. In-Laws Arthur Treadway, Anthony, Nicholas Colicchio and Father and Mother In-Law Joseph and Dorothy Colicchio.

She leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly:

Her devoted husband of 51 years, David A. Colicchio.

Her children: David J. Colicchio and Melody of Sarasota, FL and their children Gianna and Kaiden Colicchio; Steven Colicchio and Shauna of Raleigh, NC; and their son Vincent Colicchio of AZ; Andrea Tierney (James) of Dover, NJ.

Her sister: Judith Tredway

Many other nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved family and friends.

Her Grand dogs: Bear and Hashbrown.
