David A. Cole

Rockaway Twp:  David A. Cole passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Morris Plains.  He was 85 years of age.

David was born in Newark to the late Norman Cole and Eleanor (née Buist) and was raised in Cedar Grove before settling in the Mt. Hope section of Rockaway Township.

Mr. Cole was a machinist by trade and a Master Carpenter.

He loved woodworking and making stained Glass.  He also enjoyed playing poker and dominoes along with being an animal lover.

Predeceased by his wife Cecile (née Bosley) in 2019 and his siblings; Eleanor VanHoorebeke, Janet Carnavale & Raymond Cole.

Survived by:

Three Daughters: Joyce Cole.

                             Sue Madison.

                             Cynthia Filipone-Cheer

Six Grandchildren:  Leanne Cole,  David Cole, Jennifer Apollo, Luke Mears, Joseph Filipone, Richard Filipone.

Three siblings:  Norman & Gilbert Cole and Gloria Fisher.

Also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews along with his dear friend, Patricia Procter from Ireland.

Visitation will be held 9am to 11am on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, following the visitation.

Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.
