Wharton: Charles Joseph Miller, 85. Charlie as he liked to be called was born on March 21, 1936 in Plainfield NJ.
Charlie had worked as an electrical engineer for over 25 years at Union Carbide before retiring in 1999.
He was a lifetime member of both the Elks & Moose lodges and a past Commander at Post 91 American Legion in Wharton. Charlie proudly served in the United States Air Force and was awarded a National Defense Metal; he was a wounded, disabled veteran. Additionally, he was a longtime member of The Morris County Voiture 40 & 8 and was a volunteer fireman at River Road Fire Company in Piscataway, NJ.
Charlie loved the NY Jets and was an amateur radio aficionado with the licensed name WA2IRP. He loved vacationing with family, especially Disney, Caribbean cruises and boating at the Jersey shore.
Charlie is predeceased by his brother George W. Miller of Dunellen in 2012.
He is survived by his loving partner and sweetheart Jay Clare Voorhees, her daughter Cindy Hildebrandt, husband Frederick & their children Nicole, Robbie and Marc. Her son Donal Voorhees, wife Lisa and their children Erica and Dana.
