Carol A. (Jarmusz) Rooney

Wharton:  Carol A. Rooney passed away at her home on Thursday, September 14, 2023, with her family by her side.   She was 77 years of age.

Carol was born and raised in Bloomfield, NJ to the late Raymond Jarmusz and Helen (née Kiersten).  She moved to Wharton in 1971.

Mrs. Rooney was a registered nurse, graduating from All Souls Hospital School of Nursing in 1971.  She worked at St. Clare’s/Denville in Labor & Delivery then The Medical Inter Insurance Exchange, Clifton, NJ as a claims representative.  She later continued her nursing career at Newton Medical Center in Labor and Delivery and finally Morristown Medical Center in the same capacity, retiring in 2000.

Carol is survived by her husband Peter of 57 years.

Two daughters:  Julie Ann Oliveros (Jay) of Wharton.

                           Marybeth Bailey (Jack) of Peru, VT.

Two sons:           Brian and (Nancy) of Bedford, NH.

                           Patrick of Columbia, NJ.

Sister:                 Lorraine Morris and (Bill) of Delaware.

Daughter-In-Law:   Elizabeth DiMenno of Madison, NJ.   

Also survived by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 1-3pm on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.

A funeral service will be held 3pm after the visitation at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.
