Carol Jean (Counias) Duane

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Carol Duane on August 5, 2022, with her family by her side. Carol was born Carol Jean Counias on Dec 23, 1937 in Manhattan to the late Peter Counias and Florence ( Flynn) Counias.

Carol graduated Cathedral High School and with her razor-sharp intelligence and amazing work ethic became a highly respected leader while managing many businesses, her favorite being H & S Homes Real Estate for over 20 years.

A woman of exquisite taste, she provided kindness and wisdom by loving unconditionally and for earnestly listening and truly caring about her family and friends.

Carol loved to travel throughout the world, enjoyed reading a well written book and had a keen eye for interior design.

Carol’s greatest joy was her family, her love will stay with us forever. Survived by son John Duane, daughter Jill Raes (Eric), most treasured grandchildren Tristan & Gwen, Sisters Ellen Marasia & Family, Maureen Fritch & family.

Predeceased by her husband Donald, her devoted son Scott Duane, beloved granddaughter Emily Duane and brothers Michael & Douglas.

We lost our Wonder Woman and will always be grateful for having her exemplify how to live life with love, strength and dignity.

A celebration of Carol’s life Mass will be held on August 27,2022 at 10:00am at St. Peter the Fisherman Church-Lake Harmony, PA.
