Mine Hill: Bernard Austin O’Connor, Jr., passed away suddenly at St. Clare’s Hospital/Denville. He was 62 years of age.
He was born in New York City and was raised in West New York along with his two sisters, Donna and Diane. He attended Memorial High School ('78) where he honed his trumpet skills, leading to service in the Army Band and playing with Lou Christie, Bobby Rydell and Fabian, as well as many local music organizations.
He lived in Mine Hill for the past 20 years.
Although recetly retired, his last job was running the music department at the Morris Plains Barnes and Noble.
Predeceased by his parents, Bernard, Sr. and Patricia Ann (née Burke) as well as his sister, Donna Marie DeFino.
Survived by his wife Kimberly Catlett of 16 years, his 15 year old dog, Boomer, and his sister Diana Diaz.
A memorial visitation will be held 1-3pm on January 6th, 2024 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton with a 3pm funeral service at the funeral home.
