Obituary

Mine Hill:  Anne Regina Gigantelli, 85, of Mine Hill, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus April 21, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Anne grew up in Oak Ridge, NJ with her four siblings and cousin, John. She married her beloved husband, Casimer “Cozy” Gigantelli, in November of 1991.

Anne loved being outdoors. She enjoyed outdoor musical concerts and gardening. She frequently went fishing and picnicking, her favorite places to go being Sparta Glen Park, the Oak Ridge Reservoir, and particularly Cape Cod off Nauset Beach. She loved having neighbors over for coffee to “solve the problems of the world.” She was a lifetime fan of the Yankees and enjoyed Jeopardy every evening. She was a huge lover of dogs, especially Keeshonds. After raising Buddy and Smokey, she rescued multiple dogs throughout her life. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Michigan to spoil her grandkids on holidays. She was a second-generation immigrant from Ireland, always looking forward to celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day each year and attending parades, proud to show off her Irish heritage.

Anne worked various vocations, including an agent for Weichert Real Estate, a secretary at Bankers Life Insurance Co., and a social worker at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital. She volunteered at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover, was a member of the Mine Hill Senior Citizens Good Years Club, and was an active congregant of St. Mary’s Church, Dover.

Anne is predeceased by: her parents, Charles and Nora (Conroy) Gilroy, her loving husband, Cozy Gigantelli, her 3 brothers, James Gilroy, Pompy Gilroy, Thomas Gilroy, and her sister, Theresa Gilroy. She is survived by her cousin she grew up with, John Deering of West Milford, NJ. Anne will be greatly missed by her loving children: Keith Dresen and wife Lynn of Southampton, NJ, Patricia Twining and husband Rex of Mt. Olive, NJ, Charles Dresen and partner William Grisch of Charlotte, NC, Karen Hendrix and husband Thomas of Eagle, MI. She is survived by her grandchildren: Christina Anderson, Zachary Gonda and wife Jennifer, Benjamin Gonda and wife Megan, Anthony Hendrix and partner Amanda, and Meghan Dresen. She will also be missed by her great-grandchildren: Aurelia Gonda and Thomas Gonda. She leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church at 425 W. Blackwell St., Dover, NJ (371 S. Main St, Wharton, NJ 07885 for GPS) on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 9:30 AM.
