Alexander was born in Newark, NJ and was raised in West Orange before settling in Roxbury, NJ. He was a Korean War Veteran and a supervisor at Ohaus Scales in Florham Park, where he played on the bowling and softball teams, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed rebuilding and reupholstering his cars. He was a diehard Yankees fan and enjoyed arguing with his wife, who was a diehard Mets fan. He raised chickens with his father and had 2 roosters of his own.
He enjoyed going on vacation with his wife to Atlantic City, to the Jersey Shore, Lake George, traveling across the country with his family and family BBQ's in the summer with his large extended family.
He was predeceased by his wife Anna Marie (née Payton) in 2019 and his siblings Stanley Funicelli and Rose Bashall.
Survived by his sister Mary Aquadro, son Frank, daughters Sheila and husband Francis, Sr., Chrissy and her husband Carey, Alexandria and her husband Justin, Sr., and his daughter Tina. Grandchildren Trish and Joe, Samantha and Jay, Shane and Christina, Francis, Jr., Courtney, Bryan and Gracie, Justin, Jr., Tara, and Mikaela. Great Grandchildren Brantley, Colton, Cameron and Bella. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 10am - 12Noon on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton, NJ 07885.
A funeral service will be held 12 Noon at the funeral home, after the visitation.
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
