Alan E. Ritter

Wharton:  Alan E. Ritter passed away on December 25, 2023 at Care One, Parsippany after a long illness.  He was 78 years of age.

Born at Dover General Hospital to Thelma Ritter (Wilbeck) and Burt Ritter.  He was a 1963 graduate of Morris Hills High School.

He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Vulcan and with the US Naval Reserve in Bainbridge, Maryland.

He worked for many years with the Randolph and Dover Water Departments, and was an Assistant Chief with the Randolph Fire Department.

He was a member of Post 301 American Legion Riders (Charter Member) Northwest Jersey H.O.G., North Jersey Riders Motorcycle Club, and the Wharton Chapter of the American Legion Post 91.

He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Alan is survived by his wife, Melodee, daughter Sarah Titterton and son in law Dan of Andover, son, Kevin of Gladstone, grandchildren Tyler and James and sister, Karen Riccobono of Chester.

A Memorial Visitation will be held 1-3pm on Saturday July 13, at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St. Wharton.
