High Falls, New York: Terry Foerster passed away peacefully at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 with his family at his side. He was 70 years of age.
Terry was born in Paterson, NJ and was raised in Lincoln Park. He moved to Rockaway Township in 1974 and raised his family before retiring to High Falls, NY in 2009. Terry was a Math and Science teacher at Butler High School for over 38 years. He was an avid collector of pocket watches and an American Flyer model train enthusiast. Above all else, Terry loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, wonderful father and world’s best Pop-Pop, but most of all, a man who brought a smile to everyone he met.
Survived by his beloved wife Barbara of 49 years, son Christopher Foerster and his wife Samantha of Hopatcong, daughter Elizabeth McClellan and her husband Colin of Rockaway Township, and three Grandchildren; Chase and Connor McClellan and Liam Foerster. Terry is also survived by his brother Kurt Foerster, his wife Leslie and nephew Gregory of Myrtle Beach, SC and many more family and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019, from 3-7pm at Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main Street Wharton, NJ.
A celebration of his life will start at 6:30pm during the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where his eldest grandson Chase had heart surgery, would be warmly welcomed.
