Wharton: Mary Rose Sheplak, age 95, died peacefully at the Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare's Hospital, Dover on Monday, August 18th after a long illness.
Born in Franklin, NJ on October 16, 1912, one of eight children, Mary lived in Wharton since 1957.
Mary was an explosives operator and inert component assembler at Picatinny Arsenal for many years until her retirement in 1977.
Taking trips with friends and her fellow senior citizens and visiting Atlantic City were some of the activities she enjoyed. Mary was a real fan of the New York Mets and the New York Giants.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Wharton, the Wharton Area Senior Citizens, St. Mary's Happy Hours, the Catholic Daughters Court Lafayette and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees William J. Ryan Chapter 424.
She was pre-deceased by her husband: John in 1977, her son Gary in 1978, her grandson Kyle Sheplak in 2002, as well as sisters Helen Pustai, Anna Tal, Lillian Kalesia and brothers, Joseph, Steven and John Kerner.
She is survived by her son: John and his wife: Mary of Wharton

Four Grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St. Wharton on Thursday, August 21 from 4-8 PM. Funeral will be held Friday, August 22nd, 10:30 AM from the funeral home to a 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Wharton. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the St. Mary's Food Pantry, 425 W. Blackwell St., Dover, NJ 07801 or Compassionate Care Hospice, 140 Littleton Rd., Parsippany, NJ 07054 will be appreciated.
