Anne H. Korpita passed away peacefully with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2024. She was 93 years of age.
Born in Taylor, PA and graduating from Tobyhanna High School, Anne received her Bachelor’s Degree from Marywood University and later obtained her Master's Degree in Education from Seton Hall University. Anne grew up in the Poconos where she met her husband George, and relocated to Wharton, NJ where they were long-time residents for over 50 years and actively involved in Wharton and surrounding communities.
Anne also devoted over 25 years to education as a music teacher for both the Dover Public Schools and St. Mary’s School in Dover, NJ teaching choir and piano to many students over the years. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Dover, NJ as well as a long-time member of Catholic Daughters Court #881. Anne was also actively involved with The Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) of St. Mary's Parish in Dover, NJ and spent many years furthering her love for education by teaching children about the Catholic faith. Following in her love for music, Anne not only played the piano in her free time but enjoyed playing the trombone as a member of both the Hackettstown Community Band in Hackettstown, NJ and the New Horizons Band in Denville, NJ. Throughout the years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband around the world and taking tours of many countries, and also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City.
She is pre-deceased by her Husband, George Korpita, Jr. and her Son, George Raymond Korpita.
She is survived by her Sister, Dorothy Ingetti, of Arcadia, CA (and family); Granddaughter, Gianna Korpita, of Denville, NJ; Grandson, Dario Korpita, of Easton, PA; Nephew/Godson, Corey Korpita, of Norcross, GA (and family); Sister-in-Law, Pat Oliver, of Taylor, PA (and family); Sister-in-Law, Cathy Franus, and Brother-in-Law, Dan Franus, of Yardville, NJ (and family). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 South Main St., Wharton, NJ from 4-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 10am at St. Mary's Church, 425 West Blackwell St., Dover, NJ. Entombment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover, NJ.
