Rockaway Twp.: John T. Walukonis passed peacefully at home on Monday, April 16, 2012, he was 85 years of age.

Born and lived in Newark until moving to Dover in 1989 and to Rockaway Twp. in 2007.

Mr. Walukonis was a 1951 Seton Hall University Graduate receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.

John worked at Picatinny Arsenal for forty-four years, retiring in 1995 as First Civilian in Command.

He was a WW II Army veteran and a member of St. Mary’s Church, Wharton.

Pre-deceased by his wife: Mary Mills Walukonis in 2009 and his siblings: Joseph, Anna, Josephine and Vera.

Survived by his son: Thomas J. of Red Bank

Daughter: Joann M. Cullinane of Hillside

Step-Children: Robert Wells of Sanford, NC, Jackie Pallotta of Belvidere, Sandy Moreno of Wharton and Terry Loury of Rockaway Twp.

Also survived by ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20th from 9AM to 10 AM at the Bermingahm Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St. Wharton, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary’s Church, Wharton. Entombment will follow at Locust Hill Chapel Mausoleum.
