Born and raised in Wharton, Jean was the daughter of late Harvey and Roberta Leach. She married her childhood sweetheart, Peter S. Hill and resided in Wharton their entire lives.

Jean was a stay at home Mom while raising her three children before continuing her career as a Medical Assistant for Morristown Cardiology Associates - retiring in 1992 after a very rewarding career. She worked as a Medical Assistant for Dr. William G. Talmage of Succasunna, NJ part time for over 40 years.

Jean was a very active and lifelong member of the Wharton United Presbyterian Church and a charter member of the newly formed Wharton United Community Church at St. Johns, where she has served as an Elder, past officer in the Ladies Organization, member of the church choir, and heavily involved in many other Church Committees. In addition, for many years you could find Jean making Cornish pasties each month with the other dedicated members of the church “Pasty Project”.

Jean loved to travel, was an avid golfer, and a member of the Picatinny Arsenal Golf Club.

Jean is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of over 60 years: Peter (Pete) S. Hill.

Survived by her three children and their spouses: Nancy (Hill) Wallace of New London, PA; Terrance (Terry) Hill of Wharton, NJ; and Laurie (Hill) O’Brien of Midlothian, VA.

Also survived by five grandchildren: Paul Wallace, Brett Wallace, Kaysie (O’Brien) Hall, Sean O’Brien, Kellie O’Brien and a soon to be Great Grandchild.

Sister-In-Law: Jane (Williams) Eick, her husband Charles, nephew Ron, niece Lisa, cousins Michael Lyons, Linda Shrake and several other loving cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday - May 5, 2012 at the Wharton United Community Church - 20 Church St., Wharton, NJ 07885 at 11 O’clock am.
