Jefferson Twp.: William H. Halsey passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012, at CareOne of Morris Assisted Living, Parsippany. He was 79 years of age.

Born in Franklin, PA, he was raised in the Nolan’s Point section of Lake Hopatcong and moved to the Prospect Point section of the Lake in 1960.

Mr. Halsey was a utility worker for JCP & L of Morristown for thirty nine years, retiring in 1998. He then drove the Jefferson Twp. Dial-A-Ride bus for 10 years until 2009.

He was a Korean War Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 245, Lake Hopatcong.

He was also a member of the Lakeland Area Senior Citizens Club.

Pre-deceased by his first wife: Arline in 1976 and his second wife: Ruth J. in 2008.

Father of Barry, Janet, Bonny and Brenda

Grandfather of Melisa, Sean, Eric, Alan, Steven, Nicholas and Branden.

Great Grandfather of: Nicholas, Bryan, Amy, Aiden, Tristan and Jasmine.

Brother of Maryellen

Visitation will be held on Wednesday 3-5 & 7-9 PM at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St. Wharton. Funeral service will be held on Thursday 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sparta Cemetery.
